Seasonal views from Ghachowk yoga retreat Nepal

Weather & Best Time to Visit

Ghachowk enjoys comfortable temperatures year-round at 1,100m elevation

Ghachowk sits at 1,100m elevation in a subtropical highland climate zone. Temperatures are comfortable year-round, and our retreat programs run in every season. That said, each season offers a different experience.

Autumn (October – November)

EXCELLENT – Peak Season

Day: 15-25°C

Night: 8-15°C

Humidity: Low

Views: Crystal clear

The best season for yoga retreats. Crystal clear skies, comfortable temperatures, and the most spectacular mountain views of the year. Low humidity makes pranayama exceptionally pleasant. This is peak season – book early as retreats fill up.

Pack: Light layers, jacket for evenings, sun protection

Spring (March – May)

GOOD – Second Peak

Day: 20-30°C

Night: 10-18°C

Humidity: Moderate

Views: Clear mornings, afternoon clouds

Warm and pleasant with clear mornings (afternoon clouds develop). The hills burst with rhododendron blooms (March-April), creating a colorful backdrop for yoga. Great for the Yoga & Trekking Retreat.

Pack: Mix of light/medium layers, rain jacket, sunscreen

Winter (December – February)

GOOD – Quiet Season

Day: 12-20°C

Night: 5-10°C

Humidity: Low

Views: Clear and crisp

Cool and crisp with clear skies and excellent mountain views. Fewer tourists mean a more intimate retreat experience and lower prices. Mornings and evenings are cold but daytime is comfortable for outdoor yoga.

Pack: Warm layers, fleece/down jacket, warm hat and socks

Monsoon (June – September)

CHALLENGING – Budget Season

Day: 22-28°C

Night: 18-22°C

Humidity: High (70-90%)

Views: Often cloudy, dramatic clearings

Daily rain (mainly afternoons), high humidity, but lush green scenery. Very few tourists and the lowest prices. Our retreat programs continue indoors during rain. A unique experience for those who don't mind getting wet.

Pack: Quick-dry clothing, waterproof bag, water-resistant sandals

Ghachowk-Specific Note

Ghachowk sits ~300m higher than Lakeside Pokhara, resulting in slightly cooler temperatures and often clearer views. The higher elevation means fresher air and more comfortable conditions for yoga practice, especially in the warmer months.
