Transport Options

Most international travelers fly into Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM). From there, you have three main options to reach Pokhara.

Domestic Flight

$100-150 • 25 minutes

The fastest and most scenic option. A short 25-minute flight with spectacular Himalayan views on a clear day. Airlines operating this route include Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, and Shree Airlines with 6-7 daily flights.

Book 1-2 weeks ahead during peak season (Oct-Nov, Mar-May)
Flights may cancel due to weather – keep a flexible schedule
Baggage allowance: typically 20-25 kg
Morning flights have the best mountain views

Tourist Bus

$10-20 • 6-7 hours

Comfortable AC buses with reclining seats, bathroom breaks, and a lunch stop. Departs from Kathmandu's tourist bus park at 7-8 AM daily. A scenic journey through river valleys and hill towns.

Book through your hotel or any travel agency in Thamel
Departures: 7:00 AM or 7:30 AM from tourist bus park
Lunch break at a highway restaurant (not included)
Bring water, snacks, and motion sickness medication if needed

Private Car / Jeep

$100-150 • 5-6 hours

The most flexible option. Depart whenever you want, stop for photos and sightseeing along the way. Ideal for families or small groups. We can arrange a private transfer for you.
